This is a photo I took for my final portfolio in a photography class. I was walking around Salem, MA around 10 o’clock and caught a glimpse of this door to the back of a building near a parking lot. I knew instantly that I had to photograph it. The singular light and the rigid pattern of the brick wall are what I feel are the most compelling parts of this photograph. I originally titled it “A Door Better Left Closed” because of the ominous feeling I get every time I look at it. I feel like I achieved the general mood that I was going for.
